CERAMIC TILES ARE CHEAPEST

Porcelain, quartz and glass tiles may look great, but they can also come at a greater cost. As a general rule – Ceramic tiles come with the lowest cost – however don’t make the error of assuming they’re not a quality buy. Ceramic tiles offer many of the same benefits as porcelain tiles. Also, ensure you take accurate measurements of the space you intend to tile so you buy the correct amount of tiles … plus a few extra in case of any breakages – the market standard for breakages is +10%.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO TILE THE ENTIRE SPACE

With our amazing range of ceramic tiles and porcelain tiles on offer, you may well be inclined to tile the entire kitchen.  However, if you chose to tile the lower half of each wall, or limit the tiling to behind the cooker or sink, then you can either save money by having cheaper tiles to cover a greater area or buy more expensive tiles to create a feature… or maybe a combination of both.

You could perhaps mix more expensive patterned tiles among cheaper, plain tiles to create a patterned effect whilst saving money. We recommend to use mosaic tiles, metro tiles or brick tiles to add a splash of colour or create attractive patterns. Otherwise, create stimulating features by using a mix of shades and tones of the same colour. If you’re not sure how your ideas fit together, then speak to an advisor in our stores and they will help you bring your designs to life.

DON’T FORGET THE OTHER MATERIALS

When you’re in full design mode –  it’s simple to forget the accessories and other materials you may require to tile your kitchen. Make sure you set aside money for these items (e.g. cutters, adhesive, grouting, tile spacers and trims), so that there are no last minute panics at the cash desk
